Abhyangam
The meaning of “Abhyanga” is the full body oil massage from head to toe and is a basic step that stimulates and rejuvenates various body systems. This full-body therapeutic oil massage helps to relieve swelling, pain, muscular tension. It is followed by a steam bath and a hot shower.
- Indication: Eczema, Psoriasis, Arthritis, Muscular pain and Joint pain, rejuvenation and body strengthening; improves body functions and good health.
Potli/Kizhi - Herbal Poultice
This is an Ayurvedic treatment in which warm poulitice filled with Herbal Leaves, Herbal Powder, Sand, Njavara Rice etc. dipped in special oils and is applied all over the body in a rhythmic method, with a gentle pressure. By this treatment, body releases toxins from the body through sweating.
- Indication: Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid, Arthritis, Joint Pain and Stiffness.
Pizhichil
The meaning of Pizhichil is “Squeezing” is an exceptional Ayurvedic therapy all the way from Kerala a State in Indian. In this treatment, a linen cloth is dipped into warm Kuzhambu, or a special medicated oil mixture, and squeezed over the affected areas.
- Indications: Strengthening, Neurological Disorders, Arthritis, Joint Injuries, Paralysis etc.
Shirodhara
Shirodhara is an ancient way of Ayurvedic procedure, in which slowly and steadily dripping medicated oil or other medicated liquids on the forehead of the patients.
- Indication: Stress, Disturbed Sleep, Hypertension, skin disorders, hair fall and dandruff, Psychological Disorders etc.
Navarakkizhi
The words Navara means- “Medicated” and Kizhi means – “Potli or Bolus” makes “Navarakizhi” is one of the most well-known sweat inducing therapies and is used to relieve pain and stiffness in the muscles.
- Indications: Boosts Immunity, Strengthen Sense Organs, Arthritis, Muscle and Joint Strengthening, Skin Health.
Nasyam
Nasya is the Ayurvedic procedure in which medicine is given through the nasal passage, herbal extracts or oil in doze and introduced into the nostrils while inhaling. Also, the chest, face and shoulders, are then massaged with specific herbal oil.
- Indications: Sinusitis, Migraine, Cervical Spondylitis, strengthens sensory organs, Improves Memory Power.
Mukhalepam
Mukhalepam is simple Ayurvedic way of treating skin care in which a massage with Ayurvedic herbal beauty oils followed by freshly prepared herbal face pack.
- Indications: Acne, Hyperpigmentation
Kati Vasthi/ Greeva Vasthi
In this treatment warm medicated oil is kept on the affected part like neck, knee, back with herbal paste. This treatment is best for treating back pain, neck pain, knee pain, spinal disorders and sciatica etc.
- Indications: Relief to the lower back and neck, this treatment is useful for chronic and acute back and neck aches, prolapsed disc, lumbar and cervical spondylosis, osteoporosis, sciatica and gynaecological problems.
Udvarthanam/ Powder massage
In this way of treatment, a Ayurvedic massage therapy using special herbal powder to reduce cellulite accumulations, improve circulation and enhance skin’s texture and appearance. This is a wonderful treatment for detoxification.
- Indications: Obesity, PCOD, Removes Dead skin, Fat Liquefaction, Strengthen Muscle Tone.
Shiropichu
Shiro means “head” and Pichu means “swab or sterile cotton pad” dipped in medicated oils of treatment therapy. In Shiropichu way of treatment is a procedure of application of drug on the head.
- Indications: facial palsy, headache, insomnia, poor memory, neurological disorders, paralysis and skin disorders such as eczema.
Steam Bath/ Bashpa Swedana
In this therapy, an herbal steam bath called “Bashpa Swedana” which caused sweating by steam. This therapy of steam bath can help remove toxins from the body. It is a part of the cleansing therapy done after a massage. Also, is a simple way of therapy to remove toxins from the body.
Karnapooranam
This therapy is used for the treatment of ear injuries and pains, headaches or stress. Karnapooranam is also effective against nausea, dizziness, vertigo etc.
- Indications: For infections affecting the ear and head, ear pain and puss
Padabhyanga/Foot massage
This treatment is commonly called as “Foot therapy” or “foot massage” which help in relaxing foot or foot related issues. It also prevents cracks in the foot and looks attractive. Padabhyanga way of therapy which help to reduces stress and calm the mind and body and also help to relaxed and revitalizes the central nervous system.
Lepam
In this therapy of Ayurveda is for skincare and is known best for treating skin conditions. Lepam therapy helps to relief pain caused by inflammation and reduce swelling of the affected part of patients.
Netra Tharpanam
This Ayurvedic treatment is best known for eyes care. In this therapy pure as well as medicated ghee is applied on the eyes, which provide a cooling effect to the eyes. This treatment is best for preventing cataract conditions, optical nerves and also helpful in relieves dry eye syndromes, reduces burning sensations in eyes etc.
- Indications: Relieves tiredness and also improves eyesight. It is highly recommended for people who regularly work at computers.
Shirovasti
This therapy is used for treatment of ear issues which involves warm herbal oils which are being placed on the head for a certain period of time. Also, other liquids which are used in this therapy such as milk, coconut water, buttermilk etc. depending upon patient to patients.
- Indications: Cervical disorders, Neurological disorders, migraine etc.
Shiro Abhyangam
In this therapy, use of Ayurvedic herbal oils gives a complete massage to the head, neck, and shoulders, these are the areas of the body are much affected by stress and other conditions. And Shiro Abhyanga is best in reducing pain and stress.
Upanaham/Bandage
In this therapy of treatment, a warm herbal paste is applied over the affected area of the patient. During the procedure, herbal leaves are placed over the paste and then bandaged with cotton cloth and which act as healing agent. This treatment is best for relieve swelling, pain and inflammation.
- Indications: Joint pain/ injury/ muscle weakness
Dhoomapanam / Medicated Smoke
In this treatment therapy which is helpful in treatment of the head and neck disorders. Dhoomapana is applied by and is a medicated smoking therapy practised in Ayurveda.
- Indication: Headache, Ear and eye pain, Uvulitis, Tonsillitis, lack of taste etc.
Vasthi/Enema
This therapy is considered one of the best treatment for all conditions related to Vata or Rheumatism. Because of its outstanding effects on the human body, Vasthi or Enema, is called as the “King” of all Ayurvedic therapies.
- Indications: Low back ache, IVDP, Bloating, infertility etc.
